The German made Scheinflughafens "fake air strips" to mislead the Allied airplanes in their attacks on the real air fields.
On those fake air fields wooden air planes, trucks and other equipment were often placed, to give the impression there was an airfield in action. During the nights there were often some lights on to indicate that there were landings or take off's from the airstrip.
Near the village of Zwartewaal, on the crossing of the N218 and the Maasdijk, was such a fake air strip, a small Vf bunker is left over nowadays.
