Grave.
Dutch Defence line 1940, Peel-Raam stelling, Grave.

In this town, south of Nijmegen, you find two Dutch bunkers. They were called "rivier kazematten", they were both built at the southern side of the river in 1936 .
They protected the Grave bridge during the German invasion in 1940. The bridge was destroyed during those days, but later on the Germans rebuilt it.
On top of the most southern one, they placed a 20mm Anti air gun.
In 1944, during operation "Market Garden", the gun was destroyed by an air-raid and a bazooka attack.
You find a monument, just beside the road.
