Den Helder

Fort Kijkduin is one of the other old fortifications near Den Helder. This fort is a open tourist location with a museum and education purpose.
When you nearer the fort you will see a massive big concrete bloc with a steel roof on top. This looks like a German bunker but that's not the case. It's a old Dutch Navy building build around 1896 as a distance measurement point for the than current coastal batteries.
Besides the fort in the dunes are remaining some German bunkers but the most of them are demolished after the war.
