Burgh-Haamstede, Nieuw-Haamstede.
WBN, KVA Dordrecht, Stp.Gr. Schouwen, Stp. XXXXIII, Bpt 337 - Command Post Airfield.

When you go from Burgh-Haamstede to Nieuw-Haamstede over the Kloosterweg, you see on your at your left hand side the airfield Haamstede and when you enter Nieuw-Haamstede you will find the Command Post(Gefechtsstand) of the airfield. The command bunker is closed, but you can ask for permission to visit it. The bunker is partly flooded and hard to visit. Inside is a lot of rubble and post-war constructions. Next to the command bunkers lies a small Vf shelter that is recently covered with sand.

Burgh-Haamstede, Nieuw-Haamstede.

In the village of Nieuw-Haamstede, you find, scattered around the village, more bunkers. Most of the bunkers are on private property so please ask permission before you enter. There are two KSS in the area, both with 3mtr thick walls and with their steel doors still in place. A Vf telephone building next to a road in the neighbourhood, has been re-used by the owner. They removed most of the back-wall. Along Strandweg you find a observation tower.

Driving from Burgh-Haamstede to Nieuw-Haamstede over the Kloosterweg you find a camping on you left at the Groenewoudswegje. At the backside of the camping, at the beginning of the dunes, lies the first bunker.

Around the airfield, in the fields/dunes, there were lots of smaller Vf-bunkers and Küver-bunkers, Flak emplacements and Tobruks built. The bunkers are scattered over the dunes and it takes quite a long walk to find them all. Most of the bunkers are accessible. There are some nice Küver bunkers like the: 413, 450b, 455, 467. Most of the bunkers are light, made of bricks and light concrete and that gives the bunkers a nice look in the dunes (the red bricks). There are much more bunkers in this area so we haven't found them all yet.

Burgh-Haamstede, Nieuw-Haamstede.
WBN, KVA Dordrecht, Stp.Gr. Schouwen, Stp. XXXXIII, Bpt 337 - Strandweg ammunition park.

In the dunes along the Strandweg, north/west of the airfield, the Germans made an "ammunition park", with bunkers to store safely their ammo and bombs at some distance from the actual airfield..
In a small wood along the Strandweg in front of the ammo park, lies a 638 small hospital bunker. Start at the Strandweg and walk uphill the Verklikkerpad, here lies a special 501 personnel bunker with an integrated Tobruk, normally this type is without Tobruk.

Burgh-Haamstede, into the directions of Nieuw-Haamstede.
WBN, KVA Dordrecht, Stp.Gr. Schouwen, Stp. XXXXIII, Bpt 337 - Maireweg.

When you go from Burgh-Haamstede to Nieuw Haamstede over the Kloosterweg you will have a junction to the right just before the former airfield, the Maireweg. In the corner at your right hand on private property lies a Vf bunker. We think it is a telephone/communication bunker, because of the cables that are still there and also the irons racks on the wall. Is was probably also a bunker with some personnel inside, because the bunker had a large emergency exit.

Burgh-Haamstede, into the direction of Nieuw-Haamstede.
WBN, KVA Dordrecht, Stp.Gr. Schouwen, Stp. XXXXIII, Bpt 337 - on the camping at the Groenewoudswegje.

Driving from Burgh-Haamstede to Nieuw-Haamstede over the Kloosterweg you find a camping on you left at the Groenewoudswegje. On this camping you find a L 484 radio bunker and a Vf bunker. At the end of the camping, near the dunes, starts the big Flak battery of the airfield with lots of Flak bunkers, Vf bunkers, Tobruks and several Küver bunkers. See the "Airfield section".
Make sure that you ask permission before you start walking over the camping.

Burgh-Haamstede, into the direction of Nieuw-Haamstede.
WBN, KVA Dordrecht, Stp.Gr. Schouwen, Stp. XXXXIII, Bpt 337 - Boeijesweg.

At the outskirts of Burgh-Haamstede between the J.J. Boeijesweg and the Westerbanweg, in the woods, there were some Küver bunkers built.
They are spread over some distance, but in the field at the Boeijesweg you find at the south side a Küver 450B and a tobruk on private property. At the north side in the woods you find a breastwork, a Kuver 430 and a Kuver 455.
