Bilthoven, Complex Tollenstraat.
WBN, 88th Army Corps LXXXVIII, Head Quarters, Bpt. 198.

This complex is located at the 'Tollenstraat' in the village of Bilthoven. Follow the 'Soesterdijkseweg Zuid' into Bilthoven and the 'Tollenstraat' is at your right hand. The bunkers are located between houses and vegetation and are hard to find. Note the bunkers are on private property, so ask for permission.

This complex was the HQ. for the 88th Army Corps. It was moved from Utrecht towards Bilthoven around the end of 1943. There were several command bunkers (Sk) and lots of supporting ones like personnel -, hospital -, storage - and communication bunkers. Most of the bunkers, except the Sk's have been built in Vf strength. Note the beautiful concrete camouflage patterns on the Vf bunkers. We visited one of the Sk command bunkers. It is now a private museum and it is possible to make an appointment to visit the bunker. The bunker is in a good condition, there is some post-war damage, but overall it looks nice. The owner has a beautiful collection of war items and placed them in one of the rooms of the bunker.
All the other bunkers that we have photographed are at the construction pit next to the Sk command bunker. They are closed and in use by the bats.

Bilthoven, Complex Jachtlaan.
WBN, 88th Army Corps LXXXVIII, HQ-Complex Jachtlaan, Bpt. 198.

Follow the 'Soestdijkseweg Zuid' into Bilthoven, The villa 'Jagtlust' lies at your left hand at the beginning of the village. The bunkers are behind the villa at the 'Jachtlaan' .
This complex is the HQ. for the supporting staff of the 88th Army Corps, which is located at the complex 'Zonneheuvel' (1km to the north). There is a command bunker, a small hospital bunker and several supporting bunkers for the logistics. The Vf Command bunker is quite similar to the Sk. command bunker at Zonneheuvel. After the war it is re-used by the BB (Civil Defence) and nowadays it is closed.
This complex, together with the HQ. in Zonneheuvel, is build at the end of 1943, when the German High Command moved their positions from Utrecht towards Bilthoven. All the bunkers are closed or almost buried.

Bilthoven, Complex Beethovenlaan.

Along the Soestdijkseweg at the corner of the Beethovenlaan lies this location.
The bunker lies behind a private home on private property, so first ask permission! The bunker is very special while it looks like a ST bunker with Tobruk, gas-door, entrance defence, but the walls and ceiling are only 120cm thick. The bunker has a size of about 22x10m and contains 12 different rooms. There is also a water storage tank inside. The bunker was used by the Commanding Officers of the ArKO (Cops Artillery).
After the war the bunker is re-used by the Civil Defence organization BB-Bescherming Bevolking, shown by a text above one of the doors inside the bunker.
