Saint-Martin de Ré.

In the town of Saint-Martin just follow the road towards the port You can park the car there and then walk along the path to the entrance of the port.

The Germans re-used an old French battery and put two 7,5cm guns on it. The battery itself was covered by two 2cm Flak emplacements and some supporting bunkers and shelters. There supposed to be an re-used fire/control bunker but we haven't found it. The battery had to protect the entrance of the port and its position couldn't have been better.

Types:
1x Flak 28 2cm emplacement.
1x Gun emplacement for 7.5cm F.K.236 (b).
1x 621 Group bunker, remains.

Saint-Martin de Ré.

This battery is east of the Citadelle, outside the town of Saint-Martin. Follow the D735 around the town and then take a small road to the coast. It took us some time to find the right way to approach the battery. When you have reach the seaside, there is a a 612 casemate already lying there , but that one belongs to Ro 441. You can see the other 612 lying on the hill, just follow the cycling track.

The bunkers are along a cycling track and one of the 612´s is re-used as a tunnel. You can walk straight trough the bunker. The other 612 is on private property and not open. The battery was defended by two Tobruk's, that have fallen off the cliffs. A nice detail; on the roof of the 612, there are some roof tiles lying. They are part of the camouflage of the bunker, making this bunker look like a ´house`.

Saint-Martin de Ré.

This battery is located east of the Citadelle, outside the town of Saint-Martin and near Le Parc. Follow the D735 around the town and then take a small road to the coast. It took as some time to find the right way to approach the site.

The bunker, a 612 casemate for a 7,5cm gun is uncovered and clearly visible. The bunker is closed. The camouflage shapes of the roof indicates that the bunker was camouflaged as a house. We think that the second 612 is now underneath the hill next to the first 612.,Of the Flak battery nothing is left, at least we haven't found anything.
